Prodigal Vitavox Klipschorn

Jim Hunter purchased a Vitavox Klipschorn around 2002 but it got lost. They thought it was lost in shipping but instead lost in the Klipsch catacombs. During a Klipsch factory cleanup Roy Delgado found the mystery crate and sent it to the Klipsch Museum Of Audio History across the street.  I was lucky enough to be on site helping Jim Hunter with a few things at the museum.

Here it is intact.

Jim Hunter says this is one of the earlier late 40's Klipschorn models.
It is essentially a shell wrapped around a Klipschorn.
The S2 driver was missing from the midrange horn.

The amazing K15-40 was still in the cabinet.

The crossover was mounted on a thick phenolic board.
Here is the lost Vitavox finally in the museum. It will need some repair work.
