WTF Neil Diamond - I AM THE LION 1970

This song was from a very experimental album Tap Root Manuscript by Neil Diamond in 1970 featuring African sounds  instruments. This predates Paul Simon's Graceland and Byrne and Eno's Bush Of Ghosts. The song I Am The Lion was presented to me as one of the worst songs ever. I laughed so hard I was crying but now I can't get this freaking song out of my head. IT IS STUCK. I don't have a verdict on this song except to say on a bad day this makes me smile. I wonder what the reaction to this album was as people were expecting more songs like Kentucky Women.
