Technics SL-P1200 Broadcast CDP Has Landed

This week a friend offered to buy some electronics from me but I suggested we trade. I knew he had an old top loading cd player but I didn't realize it was one I've been wanting until it landed. It was an irrational want I've been wanting a big broadcast quality CD player. This one comes in at 32lbs.
My friend has the missing buttons which is good. The glue on these buttons only last twenty years. A quick google image search shows many with buttons missing.
That is some retro display action going on here.
Here are some digital hieroglyphics of the modern age.
Top loading...
Digital gore.
It did have a few issues. There was hum. Then The rca input jack broke and of course it was attached to a little circuit board. It took some rigging but I got new rca jacks to fit. The hum disappeared after the new jacks were installed.
How does it sound.... I don't know but I had fun spinning They Might Be Giants and Marley. Did I mess with the digital slip cueing and pitch control? YEAH.... I'm a dork it was fun.
