Hi-Fi Microscope Fun

I saved a microscope from being trashed this week. Only two of the four lenses is working but I did get to check out my cartridge stylus. I actually took these pics by putting the iPhone camera up to the microscope. Decent pics considering.

There was a fair bit of gunk which I removed quickly. The first is a Denon DL110.

 Much cleaner now.

It took much work just to get these pics but it was fun.

 There are of my Ortofon 2M Blue. There was actually a hair stuck to the stylus it took much effort to get it removed.

 Still some gunk. I suppose now I'll have to research stylus cleaners now.

What is that?

How did it get here?
