Grebe Radio 1925 - Vintage Steampunk

If there was an award for vintage Steampunk design I'd have to pick the Grebe radio. The controls on this radio are my favorite of any piece of audio equipment. They look hot from any angle. If you can find them with an aged patina they look even better. In these pics they have been bling'd.

 

If I could find a way to get these to control a Slagle 28 step autoformer volume control that would be too cool. I would have to find a roached Grebe CR-18(not pictured) to fashion the most Steampunk Slagle AVC ever made. I've been looking for a good design to put Slagle's 28 step AVC into but doubt it will turn out this cool.

 

Hard to believe this design is from the past instead of the future. Superb.
