1930's Radio DIY Barn Find

The Klipsch curator bought anything with old tubes in it for me.

Earliest DIY I have had so far. The valves cleaned up pretty good.  Now I have a nice selection of 26,27, and 71a

 Now this is a breadboard.

Tube sockets are great. I like the ident.

Klipsch Pilgrimage 2020 March 19-21 CANCELED

CANCELLED DUE TO  COR-OH-NO-VIRUS
This year the pilgrimage is a bit earlier in the year. If you haven't been and are a horn junkie this is a must attend. My favorite day is Friday with PWK's lab, klipsch museum of audio history, live factory, lab and current product listening sessions. The end of the day there will be a museum benefit concert.

Jensen Technical Monograph Documents #5

I recently met a California artist in the outskirts of Little Rock. It was a good mix of people artists, SubGenius, and groovy ne'er-do-wells. The artist Gary Hughes brought a copy of his book. I encourage you to check out his art. It is brilliant. Anyway, we ended up discussing audio going on about tube amps, electrostatics, vinyl, and koetsu carts. In short it was a great time and he was familiar with itishifi.com. Last week in the mail I received this wonderful package of rare 1940's Jensen Technical propaganda. Great stuff thanks Gary!!!!!!!

Here is the first document with more to come.

Box Of Crusty Antique Triodes

Jim Hunter Klipsch audio history museum curator picked these up at an auction. This is one of the best tube scores I've had in a while. There are 12 45 globes and a few 26, 27, 347,112, and various ancients.
There were 5 testing strong and 1 weak with 7 showing no glowing filaments. Check out this radiotron!
Check out the bases and the working blue Arcturus 27.

The bases were unreadable and I always wanted to do this. I took some white high gloss paint and wiped on then wiped off leaving the high gloss paint in the engraved bases. Beautiful...
