Western Electric Horn Type 16

This is the coolest horn I've ever seen in person. Haven't heard one but the size and shape is amazing. This is industrial art.

Tweeter with driver and driver for the WE16.

Western Electric Wide Range service bulletin diagrams for horn type 16 and something sort of like a 16.

This is very interesting. If anyone has a picture of this horn please let me know.

The Other Philidelphia Experiemnt 1933

This was not the first experiment of its kind but it was more successful than other attempts. From the beginning of audio the goal was to create a realistic live performance and rebroadcast that to a theater or home. This experiment was done in 1933. Here is some documentation on this experiment.

Retro Music Decca #78 1939 Calypsos By Wilmoth Houdini

My 78 collection is getting larger. Thank you Ebay. Now I need a good 78 cart. This is one I have been trying to find for a while. The three 78's are in great shape. It even came with a bonus booklet with important information on Trinidad's Calypso traditions. I've included them in this post.

This is the inside sleeve. It features several Carnival troupes. Great costumes.

This is the first time I've seen this booklet. I was very happy it was intact with this 78 set. It tells the story of how Wilmoth Houdini became the King Of Calypsos. I made these scans big so they could be read. If your into music history of the Caribbean this is a must read.

Can't wait to spin this 78. 78 booklets like this are the best way to collect 78 rpm records. I have many 78's but the ones in the best shape come from booklets like this one.

Radio News 1927 Roll Type Speaker Articles

I find these articles on roll type speakers very interesting. After reading the articles I can't help but wonder what Mr. Fitch would think about the resurgence in horns or the state of the modern audio hobby.

RCA Cabinet LS-11 for RCA 15 inch Duo-Cone LC-1

Another great RCA loudspeaker. The LS-11 cabinet made specifically for the LC-1.

I would love to have a pair of these drivers. It seems the best way to use some of Olson's best cabinets. It would be a shame to use anything else.

Ray Cathode AKA George Martin

After reading about Delia Derbyshire and the BBC Radiophonic workshop I noticed George Martin and Maddalena Fagandini issued a 45 under the name Ray Cathode by BBC Radiophonic workshop. This is an early electronic dance music single. I just got this into my hands today. It is minty. I really like this type of music so I was happy to learn about it.
