Klipsch Heritage Museum Association Last Weekend

Last weekend I had the pleasure of working with several of the other trustees of the Klipsch Heritage Museum Association. There was much work to do to get the sale items ready for ebay. Several items in the museum that are being sold to make room for the PWK library and archives but some of these large historical items were very heavy. The move of these items was headed by Jim Hunter. I must say I was holding my breath while flying the 16A, 450lb 27" Cinaudagraph woofer, and extremely heavy K400 horn mold.

Western Electric 15 Horn Study

I really appreciate the study of the Western Electric 15. I wish I had the skills to attempt a replica.

If anyone has higher resolution images of the study please contact me.

Beautiful industrial art.

Western Electric Co 288 Houston St Chest

Check out this really cool Western Electric Chest/Crate.... The rationalization that goes through my head as to why I need this is unreasonable. Yes it would be a great place to stash tubes and gear... Now if I had a treasure trove of Western Electric I would have to have it....So I' hope she finds a good home.

See perfect place to stash tubes.......

Western Electric Prototype ?

I saw this posted on a forum a while back. They were calling them phantom 23a horns. The material covering them look similar to the material on a Western Electric straight horn I saw. Does this look familiar to anyone?

At One Time New Stock

Early Ampex Corporation Theater Sound Systems

Check out these superb theater systems from Ampex. Likely licensed from Lansing or Western Electric. It is systems like these that make me wish I had a warehouse big enough to recreate these beasties. Just my opinion but if you want big real sound try big real speakers. Sorry starting to rant and drool....

Western Electric Public Address Systems

I was just going to post this one page but thought I'd include the section. Looks more like industrial art than PA system.

Western Electric Systems 1931

Here is some Western Electric propaganda from 1931.
OMG what are they flying here.....
Oh come on now that is just overkill. I only need one.. I lost count at 15.... Wow I wonder if they are still at Madison Square Garden.. Nah they probably sent them to the dump.

214 pounds of turntable. The original dj table.

Jump'n jesus on a pogo stick how many we555's can you stick on this horn....WOAH!
This is a rare treat for those of us obsessed with the WE16. Dual mount in a theater each 16 with 4 WE555's. Nice.... The Roxy was Rock'n WE style.

Vitavox Western Electric Style Horn ?

This horn was on eBay a couple of times. If I remember right it was in Europe but I can't remember who made it. The horn is obviously in the style of Western Electric but built one of the European horn makers like Vitavox, BTH, or Klangfilm. I'd love to have a couple of these hanging in my house. Oh man that would be cool. Thanks for the clarification Jeffery.

Strange Happenings In Hope

One of the rarest item in the museum a WE16A. It looks cool from any angle.
The back.
Not sure what is going on here. I think it there is some horn perversion going on. You can get arrested for that in Hope.
What the hell?
What kind of mind would do such a thing?
Well that explains it. www.experiencemusic.com
Jeffery was certainly cracking me up. Too cool.
Jeffery and Hunter discussing the massive Bozak woofer from hell.
Hard to believe they let Jeffery and the rest of us run amuck in the Klipsch lab and chamber. Ahh good times.
We were lucky enough to see these factory Rosewood Klipschorns on the factory floor waiting to be crated.
Travis and Hunter gave us a glimpse into the Klipsch tape archives. A couple of the clips were spooky. I hope they continue to restore the PWK recordings.

Great weekend great times. Thanks everyone.
