Vinyl Horns

Some sick bastard decided it was a good idea to turn vinyl into a horn shaped device. Hmm ok not a terrible idea. I can think of some vinyl I own that the world would definitely not miss nor would I feel bad about melting down. They are also doing this at a live event so check it out here

Vinyl Documentary Trailer To Have And To Hold

I can't wait to see this documentary. If I don't see it at the Documentary Film Festival I'll buy the DVD. It looks really cool.

The Microscopy of Vinyl Recordings

Ever since I scored the Garrard 301 I have become a vinyl junkie. Doing some reading at the vinyl engine I found this link to microoscopy of vinyl recordings.

I find this fascinating. All that beautiful music comes from these grooves.

The site also has some great detailed pics of stylus.

This is a great five page article.

Vinyl Osession

Austin is one of the best record shopping cities I have ever been to. I was unstoppable. I've never bought so many records in one weekend. Not sure how much I spent but I don't want to know. How many times are you faced with classic Space Age Bachlor Pad Albums, African Jazz, Talking Heads picture disks, Caribbean 45's, Calyopso, and some other crazy records. A little shop called (edit Breakway Records not Backspin) was my favorite because they had great prices and a cool selection. I did hit backspin as well but their prices were a little higher and record quality not as good. I still bought some records there. Next stop Dallas.

HiFi Girl Friday

Yes there is a record player in the background.

Ok I'm not exactly sure what kind of fetish this is but I might like it.... Can anyone tell me what exactly is going on here.
