This is one of the most exciting post I've made in a while. My friend the Tube Hoarder purchased this wonderful Stephens historical document. I have not seen this on the electric internet anywhere.
I would like to do my friend the Tube Hoarder a favor. We are looking for a very large Stephens 10 cell horn. If you have one please comment or send me an email. The example is image 11 in this post.

If anyone has this horn please contact me.

Early Ampex Corporation Theater Sound Systems

Check out these superb theater systems from Ampex. Likely licensed from Lansing or Western Electric. It is systems like these that make me wish I had a warehouse big enough to recreate these beasties. Just my opinion but if you want big real sound try big real speakers. Sorry starting to rant and drool....

In The Rubble

This pic is from a theater in the north that in the glory days must have been amazing. If you look in the rubble you can see several LF cabinets. I'll never pass another decrepit theater without wanting to break in. I imagine the hf sections are just laying in the rubble decaying even further. There is also an amazing organ back there as well...... Sigh....

Klangfilm Euronor

I love the Klangfilm horn porn. The only problem I have is getting the different model names correct. I wish there was a better site for Klangfilm history. These have large size and scale. I'm a sucker for this sort of thing. Perhaps my next house should be a warehouse. That way I have enough room for really massive horn projects. Oh well I'll quit rambling check out the pics.

Large RCA Theater System MI9572 MI9594

I don't usually post ebay auctions but this one is really cool. I saw it on ebay a few days ago and have since had several emails about it so here it is. Haven't seen this one before. This is about the right size.

RCA Theater Bass Horn Ubangi or MI-9462

This is a cool looking cabinet. Nicknamed for the African tribe with a plate in their lip. I've never seen one in person but they are a good size. The performance is 40-8500. If anyone has one of these in the southern US I'd love to hear one.

Check out this post over at SoundYork. A very nice blog. Very cool Ubangi system. SoundYork also first posted some of these pics. They are some of the best I have been able to find of the Ubangi.

Klangfilm Eurodyn Ginormous Theatre Horn

The European theatre horn masters built ginormous systems. I would love to hear these. Some of their systems are versions of RCA or Western Electric designs but then others are completely their own including this one the Eurodyn. The last pic shows the scale. If only I could fit something like this in my house. Genius.
