Joi Lansing Web Of Love Scopitone

Scopitones were video jukeboxes from the 60's. The videos are great or at least I think so. If you are unfamiliar with them check them out here My favorite scopitone has to be Joi Lansing's Web Of Love. I wish I could have been the witch doctor in that scopitone. Joi is stunning.

I don't really like the song for this scopitone but hell it is Joi Lansing :)

Happy Birthday Nikola Tesla

Ok not exactly hi-fi but could you imagine Tesla's hi-fi if he were to build one? More to come on that note. Happy Birthday you wild genius. See you when I get my time machine.

This is the party I would like to attend. Tesla and Twain in Tesla's lab. I'd bring a couple bottles of Lagavulin Scotch for Tesla and Twain to consume. That would be like lighting the fuse and running away. Oh yeah.

Instead of new post I'll just update this one. I went to a Tesla Birthday celebration the other night. It was really cool. The band Arc Attack played. The first song was the Dr Who them which was really cool. The band plays while a guy does performance art with two Tesla coils to the music. Freaking cool as hell.

Western Electric Mother Of All Coax

Images of this Western Electric Coax driver has been making the rounds lately. It was part of a cabinet. The horn was aparently part of that cabinet. I would imagine it would be hard to find to complete this driver. This is an 18 inch Western Electric driver with a WE555 as the HF. This is just over the top. Ahh I got get over WE lust.

Retro HiFi Girl Firday

I've been buying RTR tapes lately. This is nit very easy because good titles are very expensive. I've already learned the value of a splicer on older tapers. My Pioneer RTR is a little brutal on the rewind and fast forward. Anyway I've almost caught up from my trip so hopefully get some meatier post next week.

Check out these pics of vintage audio stores. I wish I could get in my wayback machine with a pocket full of cash and stock the spaceage bachelor pad with killer audio gear.

Hi-Fi Wife of the 50's

Ok now this is just hot. Forget any top model of the day I'll take Mrs 1950's wife with a killer kitchen system with a turkey. I bet she is listening to some 1950's exotica perhaps Drums of Bora Bora.

Retro WOW

This image is incredible. I wish it was wider because that looks like a serious turntable. I can see some Fisher gold and the speaker must be an Altec Iconic.
