Gold Friday Score!

This was my first vintage score for a very long time. I love The Fisher gear so was excited to get a Fisher X-100 and FM50 Tuner for $250.
Never seen a fisher with font like that and haven't seen one labeled Lew Martin '93. I assume someone put their own label on it in 1993 but why... Weird.

Hmm what to do... remove all tone controls? Make it just simple intergrated amp..

I found a crispy resistor. It fell apart at a touch.

 A cute lil Amperex.

The tuner is a FM50. This is my second fisher tuner.. Good stuff.

The Fisher EL37

Not too many manufacturers used EL37 tubes. I've only seen them in Fisher and Knight gear.

The Fisher SA-300

I've always like The Fisher gear. The SA-300 was a beastie of an EL34 amplifier with massive transformers and two gz34 tubes in the power supply.

Fisher 80 - AZ

I've always love the look of The Fisher 80-AZ. Utilitarian and compact. Wish I could build like Fisher.

FISHER Exclusives That Make A World of Difference

Fisher is one of my favorite vintage amplifier builders. I stumbled upon this when I was looking for an amplifier that utilizes EL37 tubes like the 80-AZ.

Fisher CA-40

Fisher 20-A

On the back row we see two Fisher 20 amplifiers. This pic was taken at the PWK Audio History Museum. PWK did stereo demonstrations for customers very early on. PWK would hop in his plane to see customers with shorthorns and these fisher amps that he strapped to a piece of wood. I'm not sure what else he flew with but they all had handles.

The Fisher Gold

The Fisher gear is superbly made and I think even undervalued today. Get them while you can at current prices. This is what I plan to do over the next year. The Fisher tube preamps, tuners, amplifiers and receivers are just wonderful. My first exposure to Fisher was a Coronet 100-T preamp/tuner and SA-16 amplifier. It was a great combo. If you see a console for sale you would do well to look inside. There is gold in those consoles. You can't go wrong with a Fisher 500 600 or 800. Of course this is just to name a few as Fisher had a long line of wonderful products.

Here are a couple of advertisements for Fisher's.
