Three Turntables OG DJ

This is an amazing early console for spinning 78rpm.
Times they have changed. I don't know why this pisses me off but it does. This must have been how Delia Derbyshire or Louis & Bebe Barron felt about the keyboard / synth. When someone says there is going to be a DJ I still expected turntables and f'ing vinyl not this pig abortion of whatever the hell it is supposed to be. The other night a DJ was playing and he had two of these things and not even a token turntable.

I might have more distaste for this than autotune.
Rant over.

Racon Tweeter Early Hi-Fi

Early wide range Racon tweeter advert. I tried finding an actual example but this must be a rare one. At first I thought it was a Western Electric copy.

Tannoy - The name says it all - Advert

When I was first reading Douglas Adams it confused me that he referred to speakers as Tannoy as if there was no other speaker. Once I learned of the history I understood. Guy Fountain is one of my audio hero's.

Cunningham CX-112A

I've started hoarding 112A tubes especially Cunningham as I like that extra mica support. They must have made a ton of these. I'm still going to hoard while I can.
The first two test in the 80's and appear unused. Two of them have the same datasheet.

The third had these extra long sheets wrapped around the tubes packing materials.

Hate it when they have labels. This one test at 70.

I snagged this Silvertone for $2 on ebay and it test high as well.

Paul And Moon Boots

Paul looks hopped up on the goofballs here. This would have been a good day to hang out.
I don't usually fashion critique but what the hell is up with moon boots lol....
To make matters worse they are still available.
Freaks!

Razin And Musatoff

I stumbled upon the work of Razin And Musatoff this week. Their design aesthetics are great. They build more than hifi amplifiers as there is a mix of tesla coil and shortwave gear. Very beautiful work.

Single Eneded SE33.1

I've been studying old radio aesthetic design thinking I would use some of that for inspiration for tube amp builds. The result is realizing many others including friends have already been there and done that.

Chek out the Razin and Musatoff website.

The B-52's - Give Me Back My Man

This could be Kate's finest. Byron might even like it since Fred doesn't sing. I didn't realize this had a video. Glad I have MFSL LP of their first album and Wild Planet.

Too make up for the lack of Fred here is a live version of Quiche Loraine

Klipsch Pilgrimage In Hope AR April 26-29th 2017

This years Klipsch Pilgrimage to Hope Arkansas is a really special one. The events will kick off with a ribbon cutting of the Klipsch Museum Of Audio History and the founding of the Klipsch Heritage Museum Association. The Klipsch museum building and contents have been donated very generously by Klipsch to the Klipsch Heritage Museum Association. KHMA will be a non profit with goals of preserving the legacy of PWK and his archives. PWK corresponded with all of the greats in the audio industry and kept every correspondence. This museum is more than just about preserving the Klipsch legacy but scores of untold stories from the glory days of the entire Hi-Fi industry. Klipsch Historian Jim Hunter makes new discoveries all the time.
For more information about the Klipsch pilgrimage please check the following links to the Klipsch forums. There will be museum, factory, laboratory tours and a chance to listen to exciting new speakers in the Klipsch factory listening room.
If you care about preserving audio history and the goals of Klipsch Heritage Museum Association there will be an opportunity to donate at the pilgrimage and become a member of the Klipsch Heritage Museum Association.
Once the Klipsch Heritage Museum Association website is live there will be many ways to contribute online and become a member of the museum. I will be posting and soliciting donations once this is possible.

If you are a Klipsch fan or a fan of audio history please consider attending this years pilgrimage.

William Onyebor LP Box Set

When Luaka Bop puts a box set together they ain't messing around. Stacey gave this to me for a birthday present yesterday and it is stunning. Listening to it right now for a second time. William Onyebor was an original and a treasure of Nigeria RIP.
It includes a historical booklet including digital download card and rare 45.
There is also a huge double sided poster. I am going to get this framed.
Here are the albums included and not a dud in the lot. The Lijadu Sister sing backup vocals on a few tracks.

The best thing about having your birthday on St.Pats is there are always a ton of people partying like idgets. Good times.
