Stephens Trusonic Introduces The Finest Amplifier Ever Built

Hey friends out there in Hi-Fi Land do any of you have information about this Trusonic 500 direct drive amplifier?

  3. It's an OTL tube amp designed to drive high impedance speaker loads. The problem is there are no high impedance speaker loads: the voice coils become heavy, fragile, and unwieldy. Electrostats can be driven by these with the right matching transformers ok.

  4. I have this amp. They are monoblocks and put out around 30 watts/channel. It's a gorgeous sounding amp but you need a bridging transformer to make it work with 8 ohm speakers (kind of defeats the purpose of an OTL amp). The sound is magic with a Quad ESL.
