Slim Gailard

These songs are brilliant. Thank you John from Joeslist for posting this artist I had forgotten about. Brilliant. I remember him from the movie Hellzapoppin. It is a must see.

  1. Slim was a foundational influence on numerous roots artists, from Chuck Berry to John Fahey. He was considered a distraction by the serious jazz critics and the jazz guitar community, and was sort of written out of the canon, like jazz horn men Big jay McNeely and Earl Bostic.

One of Bostic's great admirers was Marilyn Monroe, for what that's worth.
