Fun used record store finds

I don't buy too many used records these days as nice clean reissues are so plentiful. But I could leave these...
The cover of this 78box set was too much to pass up. This would be a 1940's reissue as well as this History of Jazz 78 box set which includes a Leadbelly.

This is my favorite so far Sunny Ade and his African beats. This album is superb. I love the music of Nigeria from the 70's. It is bad ass.
The beautiful Miriam Makeba and her classic Pata Pata. If you have heard the song youtube it now.

This is more traditional but fascinating.

Phillips 1KW EL6471 Amplifier Of Unusual Size

Here we have a 1955 Phillips EL6471 packing a wapping1KW. Why would one need that much power? A stadium of electrostatics? Power the most inefficient speakers ever? While hugely impractical I can't stop looking at them.. Phillips doesn't mess around and this is a serious beastie. Check it out.
Output tubes are a pair of Phillips QB3,5/750 per channel.
 Looks like three phase.
Safer with the cover on but much better off.

Check out these videos of the EL6471 in action
