This Klipschorn brochure is from 1953. Definitely one of the earlier ones.

  2. It was the Klipsch K5. It was a great horn. I prefer it to K400. Before that it was the prototype X5 which was larger.

  3. I AGREE WITH YOU ABOUT THE SOUND, BUT DID PWK MANUFACTURED IT?
IT WASN´T FROM ELECTRO VOICE? OR MAYBE FROM STEPHENS?

  4. The K5 was PWK's design. There is plenty of documentation at Klipsch museum to prove it. The horn was later copied by others. It is made of wood and a type of fiberglass. Keele studied the K5 when he work at Klipsch. PWK actually licensed many designs to Electro Voice in the 1950's. When Klipsch expanded his product line he did not license any more designs. A good friend has a pair of 1950's mahogany Khorns with the K5's and I enjoy hearing them.
