Unique Acoustics

Check out these mokore wood speakers from Unique Acoustics. These are their Jensen style bass ultra flex plus speakers which look great and made in Germany.

Unique Acoustics - Bass Ultraflex-Plus

All Unique Acoustics acoustic systems are characterized by specific features:
  • a considerably increased efficiency, as compared to ordinary analogs of the same size;
  • using a sound chamber unique construction that helps to achieve acoustic system greater efficiency;
  • the cabinet special construction preventing all disturbances and distortions, caused by the driver, the horn and the acoustic system front panel.
  • the use of the Omni Horn system for maximum efficiency of the acoustic system;
  • using a smaller size diaphragm of the radiator due to the effective use of the horn;
  • minimum non-linear distortions in its class;
  • optimal sounding irrespective of the system placing;

Here are a few of their youtube videos.

Anja Garbarek - Her Own Brand Of Strange

Can't believe I haven't posted anything by Anja Garbarak. Well after a long day at work I'm on my second Anja record and feeling better. Unfortunately Anja never makes videos for the songs I want videos for most. Anja Garbarak is Norwegian and daughter of Jan Garbarak famous European Jazz saxophonist. Her records are her own brand of strange pop. Here are a few videos to check out.

Do you ever wonder where all those items from ebay auctions you missed out on went? I know I do. Check out this amazing storefront in Seoul. They have great taste in Hi-Fi.

So Long And Thanks For All The Laughs Jonathan Winters

I know not Hi-Fi but Jonathan Winters is one of a few comedians that influenced my deranged sense of humor. His work in The Loved One and Mad Mad Mad World was superb and my favorites from his career. When someone has a rich full long life like Jonathan Winters you do not mourn them but celebrate them. So here is one of my favorite scenes. That had to be fun....

1951 DIY Klipschorn

I've never seen a Klipschorn like this before. This is an early 1950's DIY Klipschorn. This was posted on the Klipsch forum by a member with a good collection of early Klipschorns. When he has this restored I'll post pics then as well.

Parts used Jensen RP gold super tweeter, Electrovoice sp8's and a 15" red feild coil.
This is very interesting two EV SP8's loaded the top hat. I'd love to hear this.

Frank The Hi-Fi Nut Part 2

As Jethro says you gotta have a serious Hi-Fi for your swinging bachelor pad.
 I am no Sinatra or crooner fan. However the guy always had a killer HiFi and superb style. Check out this built in system. The speakers I believe are built in all over his home. I posted his upgraded system last year but this is his earlier one. I like how he preferred studio type gear in the home.

Sakuma San

I think an amplifier builder should consult with himself and his amplifier before asking the reference books and authorities.
It is only after much cut and try that I find my best matching point for audio. The tube manual is like a telephone book. It gives perfect numbers. It is useful to make it possible to speak with a girl but we cannot see her beautiful face from the mere telephone number.
To get the best sound from a tube, even if the proper match is 5k, we will try 7k. And we try these "mismatched" values with input transformers and other parts.
When you finally find the best operating point for the tube, you get the girls address.

Voigt Inspired Golden Electrik Speaker

Very interesting take on the original Voigt corner horn. I can't find any additional information about these. The reflector looks great. I wonder if this was built by the people who were selling Voigt reflectors on ebay a while back. I should have bought a pair.

YL Acoustic - Maestro

The YL Maestro must be a very rare speaker as this is the only picture of one I can find and this is an ad. If you have any pics please contact me. I find it impressive that they also have a contact in New York. Perhaps there is a chance of a snowball in hell that I could bump into a YL Acoustic speaker in the states.
