This is a La Scala Prototype at the New Mexico State University Klipsch Museum. The bass bin is at a different angle and also note the internal braces. From what I was told it was difficult to get the braces cut precisely every time so they were dropped because it would slow production and run up cost.
Good friend Dee Edwards sent this to me. I can't get enough of this guy. Amazing. I'd love to go to Rome to see this live. He also goes by the name Amibuz. I don't usually post this stuff but it is great.
Companies like Mcintosh and Klipsch went to great lengths to educate the public on the fundamentals of high fidelity music reproduction with minimized distortion. The record companies of the day also explained why their recordings were the best sometimes telling you more about the production than the artists. This is a brilliant marketing tool from McIntosh called Lost Instruments. I've actually owned MC30's and they were wonderful.
These cool RCA speakers remind me of robots from a Dr.Who episode. These would be great in an auditorium. Three drivers(edit those are ports along the bottom internal pic added) along the bottom one in the middle and an HF compression driver up top. Built for wide dispersion. You can choose between shadow blue and midnight blue...
For scale here is a pic of the LC9 at Oswalds Mill.
You can't keep some good designs down. http://www.oceanwayaudio.com/
This was the most expensive pro cinema speaker Klipsch ever sold. I've heard this system and I was wondering why isn't this in clubs today. It was a very hi-fi sounding pro system. If I were to ever own a club or have a hand in selecting a club system this would have to be the one. Are these too big for my room? Can a speaker be too big for a room..... Nah.
This is a cool looking cabinet. Nicknamed for the African tribe with a plate in their lip. I've never seen one in person but they are a good size. The performance is 40-8500. If anyone has one of these in the southern US I'd love to hear one.
Check out this post over at SoundYork. A very nice blog. Very cool Ubangi system. SoundYork also first posted some of these pics. They are some of the best I have been able to find of the Ubangi. http://soundyork.exblog.jp/13331110/
