Radio Shack was once cool

This is a site that posts old Radio Shack catalogs in an easy to browse format. I didn't realize Radio Shack was once so cool. Radio Shack started to fade in the late 60's about the time they started pushing the realistic products but still much better than it is today.

Here are some examples of what Radio Shack offered from the late 40's to late 60's. They have alot of history that is interesting. I was very surprised to see what they once sold via mail order and in store. Explore the website it is really cool.

  1. www.RadioShackCatalogs.com is a VERY nice website. A ton of old Radio Shack Catalogs, Radio Shack Computer Catalogs, commercial videos, history and a lot more. Check it out and get ready to spend a lot of time there.

  2. Iain, That's one really swell page assortment. I will investigate the originating site.

Back starting in '55 I always got the latest Allied, Lafayette and Radio Shack cats. I could afford nothing of course but I could LOOK and WISH, right? I will say that, after one look at the then new Marantz offerings, all else faded into near-nothingness. I was Marantz hooked, and for life. Only in very later years have I come to appreciate all others in a proper, perspective view. Eventually I did buy that 7C and bit later a pair of unopened 9's in a "Blowout Sale" (at near-cost!) from Henry Radio in W.L.A.

Those WERE the days, alright. I was just lucky to have been there, then.

    Great site you've got here . . .

  3. Did I write all that back then?

    Must be.

    It still stands.

  4. This is my first time i visit here. I found so many interesting stuff in your blog especially its discussion. From the tons of comments on your articles, I guess I am not the only one having all the enjoyment here keep up the good work SEB
